Who we are
“Driven by the constant need of greater cultural exchange and using art as a tool for community identity, Jade Matarazzo brings over twenty years of experience as creator of several international projects. As the founder of Art Brazil, The House of Arts, Expoart Japan and London, Atelier Without Borders, and Casa Brasil Miami, Jade always assured these initiatives would focus on cultural, social, and educational components, developing successful partnerships across the United States, Asia, Europe, and South America. Always striving to transcend barriers by using art as a common denominator, Jade brings Brazil to the world not only through young talents but also through projects she develops with established artists such as Yutaka Toyota, Claudio Tozzi, Eduardo Kobra among many others. A trained curator from the Sotheby's Institute, Jade has curated and managed over fifty exhibitions in different locations and countries. She has been an active speaker on inclusion through art at the United Nations forum and has implemented several urban projects, such as painting the iconic United Nations facade in New York and the historic tower at the Adrianne Arsht Center in Miami. In 2020, Jade Co-founded Colecta, a printed and digital art magazine dedicated to educating, entertaining, and expanding people's knowledge and perceptions on art and culture across the globe with an emphasis on Brazilian artists and special projects.
Jade Matarazzo comes from a legacy of love for all forms of cultural entrepreneurship and pursues diverse artistic paths dedicated to continuing the patronage of her uncle and mentor, Ciccillo Matarazzo, founder of the Bienal do Brasil and the Museum of Modern Art in São Paulo. As a visual artist and photographer, winner of twenty-two awards, Jade has held over fifteen solo exhibitions in the United States, Europe, and Asia, and has her work included in the Morikami Museum in the United States.” — Jade Matarazzo
With gratitude, we thank the exceptional patron of our artistic residency:
Hal Trager
“Hal Trager’s artistic journey spans thirty years of his life, which is a testament to the power of his hand’s connection to memories and the mind's limitless potential. Through meticulous craftsmanship, he invites us to explore the delicate balance between order and chaos, symmetry and illusion. As you wander through ‘Symmetry Unveiled,’ allow yourself to be drawn into the hypnotic world of Hal Trager, where the boundaries of perception are continually redefined.”

MEET OUR RESIDENTS
-
Achilles Simioni (Kille) - A visual artist and designer, Kille has built a unique path that blends art, design, and play. Founder of Kitopeq and Milliepacco, he explores emotional storytelling through form, color, and character. His most recent project, Puffy Doodle, marks a bold return to the visual arts; a series of playful polymer sculptures inspired by pop culture, urban aesthetics, and contemporary visual language. Kille brings with him a spirit of experimentation and creativity that aligns beautifully with Casa Atelier’s mission.
-
Carlos Alves — a multidisciplinary colorblind creator. Navigating a world of color, Carlos relies on an acute sense of form, texture, and contrast. The result is a heightened creative process that demands intuition, focus, and constant discovery. His work blends sculpture, mixed media, and found objects, transforming everyday materials into layered, tactile compositions. At Casa Atelier, Carlos continues to explore the edges of perception and possibility. His residency is a space of experimentation, where limitations become tools, and each piece tells a story beyond color. We’re proud to have Carlos with us, pushing boundaries and expanding the language of art.

Aisha Asconiga — the first artist-in-residence in our 2025 cycle. Her arrival marks the beginning of a new chapter of exchange and creation within our space. Aisha’s work, rooted in cultural memory and layered visual narratives, brings a unique energy to the residency. Over the coming weeks, she’ll be developing new pieces, engaging with our community, and opening her practice to the conversations that only a space like Casa Atelier can spark.
